Quick One

Effect: You show two cards then push into the pack and square up the deck. Instantaneously you produce the two cards with a magical flourish.

Method/Presentation: You need to similar looking pairs of cards like the 7H 8D and the 7D 8H, remove these cards from the pack and put the 7H on the bottom and the 8D on top. Place the 7D 8H on top of everything, face down.

Bring out the deck to show your trick and say you will use two cards, briefly show the spectator the top two cards, make sure not to name them or they might remember that they are different in the end. Slide the two top cards into the middle and square up the pack so all can see.

Now remember you still have the 7H on bottom and 8D on top, these are the cards you will produce quickly. Hold the pack in your left hand with your thumb on top and fingers on bottom. While squeezing the pack together toss all the cards between the top and bottom cards into your waiting right hand. Your left hand will now hold the top and bottom cards which the spectator just saw go into the pack (actually they saw similar cards, but didn’t have enough time to register what the cards actually were).
